Emeli Sande just premiered her new single ‘Clown’ on her official VEVO channel.

The music video is brilliant. It’s in all black and white and is basically like a silent movie.

They discuss the topic of freedom in the video and how badly the girl is playing, wants freedom.

Scottish jazz/soul artist Emeli Sandé recently visited The Recording Academy’s headquarters in Santa Monica, Calif., to participate in an exclusive GRAMMY.com interview and perform a brief acoustic set. Sandé discussed her debut album, Our Version Of Events, performing at the 2012 Summer Olympics and how studying neuroscience has influenced her songwriting, among other topsics. Sandé performed songs from Our Version Of Events, including “Heaven,” “Breaking The Law” and “My Kind Of Love.”

“When the songs came together I really felt it was an album that expressed what I wanted to say to introduce myself,” said Sandé regarding Our Version Of Events. “I feel like lyrically it gives people a real sense of who I am.”

Born Adele Sandé in Aberdeen, Scotland, Emeli Sandé has earned praise from GRAMMY-winning artists including Adele and Alicia Keys. Influenced by artists such as Massive Attack, Joni Mitchell and Nina Simone, Sandé began playing clarinet and piano and writing songs at a young age. While studying medicine at Glasgow University, she landed a deal with EMI Music Publishing and subsequently helped pen songs for artists including Cheryl Cole. After moving to London, in 2010 she launched her solo career and released her first singles “Daddy” and “Kill The Boy.” In 2012 Sandé earned the Critics’ Choice Award at the Brit Awards.

Released in the United States in June, Our Version Of Events peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard 200. The album reached No. 1 in the UK. Sandé is currently on tour throughout the United States, with select dates scheduled through November.

Emeli Sandé has admitted that she was nervous about performing at the Olympic opening ceremony.

The Scots singer’s performance the event was seen by millions around the world.

Emeli told Q magazine: “My highlight of the year was stepping out to sing Abide With Me at the Olympics opening ceremony.

“That was a huge moment. And the most nerve-wracking of my life, not just the year.

“Partly because at the dress rehearsal, in front of 16,000 people, my mic wasn’t working.”

She added: “However, I felt very calm when I stepped out. You can’t really see people, you can only see lights. Everybody went very quiet. It was like being underwater. “

Sande revealed another highlight of her year had been collaborating with her idol Alicia Keys.

Alicia said: “I have to say, myself and Emeli Sandé – when we met and we really began to write together, it was instant magic and that doesn’t happen all the time.

The company also announced that ‘Our Version of Events’ is the best selling album in the UK this year. ‘Our Version of Events’ is followed by Adele’s ’21’ and Lana Del Rey’s ‘Born To Die’.

Our Version of Events is the debut studio album by Scottish singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé. The album was released on 13 February 2012 by Virgin Records, following Sandé's winning of the Critic's Choice Award at the BRIT Awards 2012. Though Our Version of Events is her first release, Sandé has been active in the industry since 2009, most notable appearing on singles by Chipmunk ("Diamond Rings") and Wiley ("Never Be Your Woman"). The album features R&B, soul and pop music. Sandé began working on the album when she was eleven years old.

"Free" is a song by the British quartet Rudimental featuring vocals from English-born Scottish recording artist and songwriter Emeli Sandé. The song was released in the United Kingdom on 18 November 2013 as the sixth single from their debut studio album, Home (2013). Another version of the single also features American rapper Nas.
