Having topped the UK Albums Chart for two weeks in March with her debut set, “Our Version of Events,” Emeli Sande is making inroads on U.S. radio with her maiden stateside single, “Next to Me.” The soulful track, which reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart, bullets at No. 34 in its second week on Adult R&B and is approaching the Triple A adult alternative chart. “I wanted the album to have a real message of hope,” she recently told Billboard.com’s The Juice with Erika Ramirez. “I wanted to speak about unconditional love.”
So a while ago Emeli said that she would start a new blog, and today she posted it. Emeli will be posting loads of videos and pictures from amoung many of her journeys as an artist! It’s quite exciting! Emeli uploaded her first video and to our surprise it was her from her trip to Tabago earlier this month. Emeli sings an acoustic version of her future smash single ‘Wonder’ which is expected to be released this summer! The lyrics so incredible and as always Emeli’s voice sounds like heaven. Today Emeli posted a picture of her in a new magazine, she didn’t say what magazine but she tweeted: ‘Check out the interview magazine this month!’ so we’re guessing it’s Interview Magaine, anyways Emeli looks great! Clip on the thumbnail to view it in full!

After Emeli Sandé performed on a recent results episode of The Voice, tonight young hopeful Ruth Brown paid homage to the Scottish star, by performing her hit single ‘Next to Me’ on the third live show.
The 19 year old hopeful this week became the bookies’ favourite to win the entire BBC series, so she had a lot to live up to with her big performance, however we felt that Tom Jones had chosen a great and very age appropriate song – as well as a happy one for a change – for the stunning singer.
Ruth took to the stage tonight wearing a floral print jacket and trousers. The production was just Ruth and a piano to begin with, which was a great way to showcase her voice. Some smoky tones, but we’ve got a grumble about her diction on the lyrics – sometimes Ruth just runs the words together, which isn’t great.
She hits a crescendo midway through the song which is initially quite good, but the strong vocals subsided into uncontrolled shouting. A hit and miss performance. Tom Jones may say that Ruth has come a long way, but she could pick up a few hints from Leanne Mitchell about control.
JUDGES COMMENTS:
Tom said “when I hear Ruth sing, I get choked up”, and says she has something that he’s never heard before. The crowd goes wild. Danny O’Donoghue told her that she made his hair stand on end and says she may be a musical legend herself some day.
Will.I.Am’s comments didn’t make any sense whatsoever. But Jessie J complimented Ruth on how she was exploring her voice and called her a soul singer. Tom finished by mispronouncing Emeli Sande as Emeli Sunday, and wished she could hear Ruth’s version.

Emeli Sande has revealed she is currently writing new music for the follow-up to her debut album.
The ‘Read All About It’ singer recently wrapped her first headline tour of the UK last month, and is now back penning new material alongside producer Naughty Boy.
‘Next To Me’ singer Emeli worked heavily with the London-based producer on her debut record ‘Our Version Of Events’, which was released back in February.
“Good morning!! Had a crazy, old school writing session with @NaughtyBoyMusic last night,” Emeli tweeted earlier today (10th May). “Was a late one but def got a bounce in my step today!!”
Naughty Boy later replied: “They don’t even know the half of it .”
The singer-songwriter performed live on The Voice UK last week when she took to the stage to sing her new single ‘My Kind Of Love’.
Emeli Sande is set to perform several UK festivals over the coming months and has promised fans a “summer of wonder”.
Blimey, the festival lineups this year just get better and better don’t they? Lounge on The Farm definitely isn’t an exception either and they’ve just announced a whole load more bands and DJs who’ll be joining the bill for the Kent based festival. Hurrah!
The lovely folk over at Lounge have already rounded up a cracking lineup and the latest additions will see acts including Jamie N Commons, King Charles, Isaac Christopher, Tom Williams and the Boat, BIGkids, Eugene McGuinned and Yob join the flock down on the farm between the 6-8 July.
With Emeli Sandé, The Wombats, Spector, Slow Club, Mystery Jets, Ghostpoet, Goldie, Summer Camp, Niki and the Dove, Fake Blood, Jess Mills and more already lined up to play, it’s all sounding pretty darn idyllic. With more than a fair sprinkling of comedy and spoken word in there too, you’ll even have the chance to feel a bit cultured in between bands.
This is all well and good, but frankly all they had to mention was the roller disco, tea dance and vintage clothing market and we were getting our tents out already.
Lounge On The Farm takes place at Merton Farm in Canterbury on the weekend of 6-8 July and if that sounds like your kind of cup of tea you can get your mits on some tickets here.
