Who is Emeli?

Emeli Sandé was born in Alford, in Aberdeenshire, Scotland to a Zambian father and English mother on March 10, 1987. She studied Medicine at the University of Glasgow, but stopped in her fourth year. Emeli Would Love To Work With James Arthur
October 25th, 2012

Emeli Sande has admitted that she’s supporting X Factor hopeful James Arthur in this year’s competition.

Sande performed on The X Factor stage last Sunday with Labrinth, and met James backstage after his rendition of LMFAO’s ‘Sexy and I Know It.’

The ‘Read All About It’ singer now appears to be a fan of his, telling the Metro: “I really like James Arthur.

“I haven’t watched too much but I definitely saw his performance at the beginning. He just blew me away.”

She went on to say that she’d like to work with him, adding: “I met him at the weekend and I’d love to get in the studio with him. I think he’d be great. He’s brilliant.”

However, Sande went on to say that she would never have considered being a contestant on the reality show, citing nerves as a reason not to.

She explained, “I think I’d try any other route than doing it. I couldn’t face going on that stage every week, it’s nerve-wracking.”

This is big praise coming from Sande, who recently won a much coveted Q Award for Best Solo Artist.

She was quoted in the Daily Record as saying, “This is a big one. It’s a big competition, so it was really good. I’m very happy about this.

“It feels really nice to get that type of acknowledgement.”

Sande also begins a sold out tour next month, including dates at the Royal Albert Hall and Manchester Bridgewater Hall.

Tickets for Emeli Sande’s 2013 tour go on sale on Friday at 9am, for more details visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.
