ANNIE Lennox is set to team up with Scotland’s hottest new star Emeli Sandé.
The former Eurythmics star is hosting Equals Live, a festival to celebrate International Women’s Day, and has invited Emeli, Katy B and Jess Mills.
Annie is from Aberdeen and Emeli from nearby Alford.
Annie said: “I’m proud to be presenting an evening of British female artists in celebration of International Women’s Day.
“Equals Live will shine a spotlight on an incredible new generation of women in music who are raising their voices in solidarity with women across the globe.
“International Women’s Day is the perfect time to reignite debate about what a more equal world would look like with a new generation and to finish the work of the women and men who paved the way before us.”
Annie’s event at London’s Royal Festival Hall will be on March 9, the day after International Women’s Day on March 8.
The festival calls for equality between men and women and is a partnership of 30 leading charities and arts organisations.
Annie, 57, has won eight Brit Awards and four Grammys. Emeli went to No1 with Professor Green on Read All About It and is a shoe-in to go to No1 a week on Sunday with debut album Our Version of Events.
Last year at the Equals Live concert, Annie was joined on stage by Paoloma Faith and Kate Nash.
An insider said: “It would be amazing to have Annie and Emeli singing together.”
