The ceremony took place today (May 16) in London as the British music industry paid tribute to songwriting.

The Scottish singer won the PRS For Music Most Performed Work gong for her hit track ‘Next To Me’, with her co-manager Greg Castell picking up the award on her behalf.

The ‘Our Version of Events’ lady also won the Best Song Musically and Lyrically award for the same song.

Other winners on the day included Calvin Harris, who collected the Songwriter of the Year award, and Alt-J, who won the Album Award.

Speaking about his win, Harris said: “This is easily the greatest achievement of my entire life.”

According to ABC, both performers will give audiences a taste of new music, including performances of “The Other Side,” “Next To Me” and “Heaven” on Tuesday, May 7.

“One couple will be eliminated on “Dancing with the Stars the Results Show” (9:00-10:01 p.m., ET). The show will feature music by singer Jason DeRulo, who will perform his current single, “The Other Side,”as well as Emeli Sandé, who will perform her hit, “Next to Me,” and her new single, “Heaven.” The show will also feature a spectacular opening number choreographed by Jason Gilkison and featuring the pro and troupe dancers,” reports ABC.

As previously reported, both Jason Derulo and Emeli Sandé are performing and touring this summer in support of new singles and albums. Sandé will kick off an intimate venue tour July 2 in Lake Buena Vista, FL. Derulo is confirmed to perform at Kiss 108 FM’s summer concert event in Mansfield, MA on May 18.

“Dancing With The Stars,” the results show, airs Tuesday, May 7 at 9 p.m. on ABC.

Emeli Sande may still be revelling in the success of her debut best-selling album ‘Our Version of Events,’ but the Scottish songstress is already said to be planning her next record and sources say it could “happen quickly.”

The ‘Read All About It’ singer released ‘Our Version Of Events’ a year ago and it has gone to earn all manners of achievements for Emeli including the best-selling album of 2012 title and most recently, trumping The Beatles’ record with the LP spending a whopping 64 weeks in the top 10 on the UK charts.

Emeli Sande will reportedly release her new album in 2014.

While Emeli could most likely live off the success of her debut for the next few years, an insider claims she is already working on her second album with a view to release in 2014.

“She’s got to take some time to organise her thoughts and start writing songs for her next record,” a source told Music Week.

“It may happen quickly. It may take some time, but I think she would want another album to come out perhaps next year.

“She’s very diligent and has a very solid work ethic. She’s very serious about what she does, which is a joy.”

Meanwhile, the source claims that Emeli’s record label Universal, which now own Virgin Records, will focus on making the singer’s launch in the US a huge success.

“Since Steve Barnett has taken over at Capitol [Records] it’s brought some real focus and order and Universal love Emeli and they want it to be successful there,” the insider said.

“It’s moving in the right direction. Her profile is building in the right way and are feeling very confident they are going to have a successful campaign over there. While she’s there we’ll just book a studio somewhere for her to sit down and get her thoughts out.”

‘Our Version of Events’ has spent several weeks at number one over the course of the year since it was released and has spawned the hit single ‘Heaven,’ ‘Next To Me’ and ‘Clown.’
