21st Annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party - Red Carpet
The line-up for this year’s BBC Radio 1 Academy has been revealed.

Emeli Sandé, Rita Ora, Biffy Clyro and Example will take part in industry themed events in Glasgow over May 10-16.

The event is taking place at the Queen Margaret Union and those interested in attending can apply for tickets.

Sandé will take part in a Q&A on May 10, with Sir Richard Branson and Ora’s following on May 12.

Biffy Clyro meanwhile will answer questions on May 15.

Example is also scheduled to appear throughout the week, which will also see workshops and live sessions be held.

The Daily Record reports that Ora will also perform live, with rising star Nina Nesbitt also set to feature at the event.

Example commented: “Some of the most passionate music fans I’ve met live north of the Border. I look forward to meeting young people in Glasgow and answering all their questions.”

The event is a precursor to Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Glasgow on May 24 and 25.

Tomorrow Emeli Sande will be performing at the British Asian Trust in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Naughty Boy will also be accompanying her. Prince Charles is the President of the trust and Naughty Boy serves as an ambassador.

NEW YORK, NY — OCTOBER 4, 2013 — For the first time ever, VH1 will bring some of its You Oughta Know artists together on one stage for an unforgettable night of music. Since its launch in 2005, VH1′s You Oughta Know franchise has introduced promising new artists on the rise and served as a barometer for what and who’s hot in music today. Premiering on Thursday, November 21 at 9:00pm*, VH1′s You Oughta Know current roster artists HAIM, JOHNNYSWIM and Lorde join franchise alums, Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sandé, Matt Nathanson and The Lumineers at the inaugural “You Oughta Know In Concert” from New York City’s legendary Roseland Ballroom. The announcement of the concert was made this morning on VH1′s Big Morning Buzz Live with Carrie Keagan, VH1′s morning entertainment news and pop-culture program.

Hosted by VH1′s resident music expert Jim Shearer, with additional appearances by celebrity presenters, this festival-style concert event will feature performances by each artist, including never-before-seen collaborations and covers. Viewers will also get an inside look at the artists’ personal lives and careers through VH1 original short film profiles that will showcase exactly what and why You Oughta Know about each of the performers.

Fans can watch the taping of the concert, live as it’s happening, only at YOKconcert.VH1.com on November 11. The live stream will be available on desktop, mobile and tablet devices, and in the VH1 App, and will feature behind-the-scenes coverage, as well as full sets from the performers. The full show and exclusive performances will be available for on demand viewing in the VH1 app and on VH1.com on November 21.

Of Zambian and English descent, the Scotland-based singer/songwriter’s debut album Our Version of Events was the bestselling LP in the U.K. for 2012, as well as the new record-holder for the most consecutive weeks in the top 10 of the U.K. charts, and she performed at both the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2012 Olympics. Having already garnered critical acclaim and appeared on late-night TV, Sandé now hits the ACL stage on July 7.

Our Version of Events is the debut studio album by Scottish singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé. The album was released on 13 February 2012 by Virgin Records, following Sandé's winning of the Critic's Choice Award at the BRIT Awards 2012. Though Our Version of Events is her first release, Sandé has been active in the industry since 2009, most notable appearing on singles by Chipmunk ("Diamond Rings") and Wiley ("Never Be Your Woman"). The album features R&B, soul and pop music. Sandé began working on the album when she was eleven years old.

"Free" is a song by the British quartet Rudimental featuring vocals from English-born Scottish recording artist and songwriter Emeli Sandé. The song was released in the United Kingdom on 18 November 2013 as the sixth single from their debut studio album, Home (2013). Another version of the single also features American rapper Nas.
