It’s only been two years since UK music artist hit the music scene as a featured artist on various rappers’ singles such as Chipmunk’s single “Diamond Rings” and Wiley’s “Never Be Your Woman.”
After three hit singles in the UK, Sande has finally crossed the ocean onto American shores with her song “Next To Me.” Illustrating the growth of her popularity, Sande made a surprise appearance at this season’s “American Idol” singing her song with 4th place runner up Amber Holcomb.
She’s been surprised of all the love and support that America has shown to her especially having her songs performed on “American Idol.” Sande says, “I feel very lucky. Coming here and seeing the momentum building, I’m really excited in introducing my music over here.”
While walking the red carpet arrivals of the show, Emeli Sande told Front Row Features correspondent Chris Trondsen that she would love to work with Bruno Mars. She added, “I thinks out there doing something really cool.”
Emeli Sande heads back to the U.K. but will return to the U.S. in July for a tour.
